East-West Karate and our head instructor, Sensei John Dombeck, Ph.D., have specialized in practical, 1-2 session Self Defense Seminars and Hands-on Workshops for groups of 1-1000+ people in the Twin Cities Metro Area of Minnesota since the late 1990s. Our programs are ideal for companies, college campuses, high school groups, churches, girl scout troops, as well as small groups of friends. East-West Karate's Self Defense Seminars and Workshops cover the basics neccessary to end a violent attack and escape to safety.

We offer two main programs: Knowledge-based Seminars and Hands-on Workshops. Women-specific, co-ed, and child-oriented programs are all available, and any program may be held at a location of your arrangement or ours.

Prices vary with program and group size. The Knowledge-based Seminars are ideal for larger groups on a tight budget, time constraints or concerned with potential liability issues involved with a Hands-on Workshop. Time commitment and pricing for the Hands-on Workshops (which also include knowledge-based information) are comparable to that of seeing a movie. Coordinating a Seminar for your entire group and the hands-on portion of the Workshop for a sub-portion of the group may also be done, minimizing cost and allowing for the varied interest levels and time commitments within the group.
